Wendy has been a Main Board Director at Nicol Thomas Ltd for eight years and has been practicing as a Chartered Architect for more than twenty eight. She heads up the Birmingham Office Architectural team delivering designs and technical support across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, health & wellbeing, and retirement. With a particular passion for retirement, Wendy has become a specialist in the area of older peoples housing and assisted living design. She has delivered just over 3,500 extra care/care home apartments across a range of Clients (including Sterling Gold standard dementia design) , with a further 1,500 apartments currently at early strategic stage or under construction.

Project Experience

  • 260 unit Retirement Village for ExtraCare Charitable Trust at High Wycombe – Circa £40 million
  • Malvern Retirement development for Festival Housing – Circa £18 million
  • Mixed use comprising Extra Care, Dementia, Supported Living, GP’s Surgery, Women’s Refuge and General Needs Housing for Staffordshire County Council and Wrekin Housing Group – £24 million
