Richard Fletcher is a Main Board Director of Nicol Thomas Ltd with a wealth of experience in all aspects of Architecture, interior Design and Urban Regeneration. Richard has represented Nicol Thomas for over 25 years and became a Director of the Company in 2006, and now oversees an experienced team of Architects and Technologists.

Involvement from Inception through to completion of major Public and Private sector Residential and Commercial Projects and considerable experience in developing design briefs, liaison with Clients and realisation of Concepts. This has involved working directly for the client or successful partnering contractors on Design & Build projects, working closely with major housing developers in formulating standardisation of their specific product.  Recent professional development has included sustainable development including the design and completion of the first registered Code Level 6 and Passive House units in the North West. Speaker at the ‘Meeting Carbon Neutral’ and West Yorkshire Police ‘Secured by design’ Conferences on behalf of nicol thomas.

Works closely with a diverse team of Designers and Technologists previously taking on the role of CfSH­ Assessors where necessary and heading up the Companies Health & Safety strategy together with co-ordinating the Principal Designers remit.

Project Experience

  • Residential Regeneration Project in Oldham town centre of 93 dwellings for Symphony Housing Group including Passiv Haus units and CfSH level 6 dwellings with contract value of £16million
  • Affordable housing scheme of 131 dwellings in Manchester for Great Places Housing Group. Contract value £13million
  • Speculative housing scheme for Prospect Estates of 232 dwellings on former works site
  • Integrating with adjacent greenbelt.- circa £20million
