Blythe Valley Park

Nicol Thomas were commissioned by KIER Living to develop a proposal for a plot of land within the Blythe Valley Park Development.  This key site was marked as the ‘blended core’ and signified an important site within the wider Blythe Valley Masterplan. The proposal required landmark buildings and the creation of key spaces through the integration of a mixture of uses and landscape areas.

The phased development comprises 101 PRS apartments, 100 bed retirement facility and 10 bungalows with private and shared parking courts. Key to the design was the response to the sensitive nature of the site and the topography creating a stepped massing approach that ensured the built form sat comfortably within its contextual surroundings. Within the design there is a strong emphasis on ‘community’ through the use of key landscape features located centrally to the site.
